I found a good link to http://www.anetstation.com/. It is being streamed from the South Pole. Amazing. This station was playing blues music. There is no talk, and no commericials. I was not aware of this technology until now. It is fascinating that we can listen to a signal that is being transmitted so far away. This radio station was one of the first Web stations in the world. The web site has a photo of the radio station surrounded by snow. And I thought it has been cold here.
I also found the station streamed from Antarctica at http://www.anetstation.com/st. This station actually plays music from many different artists who play internationally, own and distribute their own music. I agree that the fact that I can listen to a song on the radio in the South Pole is quite amazing (yet not unlikely). I guess it just goes to show that in terms of communication, we are connected in so many ways to so many places.
