media accused of being timid about attacking racism

After having read last weeks articles on ethnic awareness in journalism, I found an interesting article in the Huffington post by Tim Giago accusing the mainstream media of being timid about attacking racism against asians, native americans and mexicans. Giago argued that racism against blacks and jews has powerful lobbyists to defend them. Giago believed that in mainstream media native americans, mexicans and asians dont count as much as jews. He thought the word "redskin" which is thrown around freely especially in sports news (the football team) was rude and offensive to native americans. I have not seen this kind of anger and I felt it interesting, is this kind of racism different from any other? Are other minorities really more powerful at protecting themselves against racism?http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tim-giago/why-is-the-use-of-the-r_b_35496

A UTube Email

For one of my classes, Gender and Society, a Sociology class, we were discussing violence between men and women in abusive relationships. My professor showed the class a few videos from UTube that showed different scenarios of violence occurring.
One video he should us was a commercial promoting women to get help when they are in an abusive relarionship. The scenario was a boss was holding a meeting with his colleagues and as they are discussing an issue a womancollegues arrives late. As soon as soon as she enters and the boss sees her, he gets up and punches her in the faces causing her to fall down. Then the screen turns black and a voice says, you wouldn't accept it here, you shouldn't at home.
This class was about 3 weeks ago.
I was working yesterday and I received an email from one of my co-workers with "Slap your Co-Worker Day," in the subject line. I opened it and I immediately saw the same video that was shown in class. The email was supposed to be funny saying that today was national slap you co-worker day. It had different rules as to who you could slap, how many times through out the day, where they could slap and for what reason. This was supposed to be for those co-workers you would just love to slap in the face.
I erased it thinking how distasteful knowing the true purpose of that clip was to demote abusive relationships as this email was promoting it.
