WWF Ad in Canada
I found a commercial from the World Wildlife Federation that airs in Canada on YouTube. The "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" song that used to be on the Mr. Rogers show is playing in the background and different natural disaster-type situations are occuring. During a particularly destructive storm, there is someone driving a convertible with the top down and a couple is walking in the middle of it with a baby in a carriage. People are also seen camping in the woods which are being burned down by brush fires. Then "Ignoring global warming won't make it go away." appears on the screen. I thought the commercial powerfully conveyed its point. The commercial relied mainly on images and sound with only a little text to get its message across-- I can see this as an effective advertisement and I could also see this commercial airing in the United States.

Nice one. I agree that this would also be suitable for a US audience.
(I embedded the video for you--it's easy to do. Just copy the "embed" code from YouTube and paste it into the "edit html" field of your blog post).
Michelle,
This advertisement is very effective. It is an informational, yet emotional appeal to the audience. I like how there is very little dialog, just a simple ending statement. But, the context of the piece makes you question - What is going on here, leading you to expect a statement.
I agree that we could very likely see this on American television. Many of the ads on YouTube and on Ads of the World are similar in that way.
Advertisements that are done creatively and use universal themes do translate well to other cultures. This is a very good example of that.
Good pick!
